Obituary

Ellen Jane Pruitt, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Mrs. Pruitt was born on November 29, 1943 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of Calvin Clifford Evans and Adeline Pressley Evans.
Mrs. Pruitt was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She retired from Marietta Neurological where she served as an office manager for twenty-seven years. She also was employed with Kennestone Hospital for thirteen years. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing. She was of the Baptist faith and a proud and active member of Faith Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father and a brother, Tony Evans.
Survivors include her mother; loving husband, Billy Wayne Pruitt, Sr.; son Billy (Missy) Pruitt, Jr.; grandchildren, Kayla (Mark) Abernathy, Billy “Trey” Pruitt, III and Gracen Pruitt; sisters, Shirley Radford, Nina McCoy and Rita Gann; brothers, Hugh, Carey and Roger Evans; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Foster and Rick Pearson officiating. Entombment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Trey Pruitt, Dusty Cook, Scott Weaver, Dwayne McCoy, Darrell Radford and Jeffrey Ayers.
Honorary Pallbearers are Kyle Gann, Brian Evans, Tim Evans and Calvin Evans.
Visitation will be held from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions made to Faith Baptist Church.
