Harry was the son of J. Calvin Thompson & Mary Justina Whitehead.

His obituary in the Rock Island Argus includes: "He married Blanche Root July 4, 1905 in Rock Island. She died April 15, 1935. He married Mrs. Nellie Beers on Feb. 22, 1936. She died Nov. 15, 1960. He married Mrs. Angeline Spieth Nov. 9, 1962 in Chicago."

His obituary also includes: "Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Violet L. Simpson of Portland, Ore.; four sons, Harold E. Thompson of Elizabethtown, Ky., W. Calvin Thompson of Moline, Robert R. Thompson of Portland, Ore., and Richard E. Thompson of Westminster, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charlene Guthrie of Rock Island; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Justina T. Anderson of Rock Island. He was also preceded in death by a sister."

Harry had been head of the finance department of Modern Woodmen of America prior to retirement.see attached
