Francis Clifford Bond, 83, Milan, died on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at his home.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Larson's Funeral Home, Milan. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may
be made to the Pathway Hospice organization

Francis Clifford Bond was born Dec. 28, 1915, in Cincinnati, Iowa, the son of Charley and Lenna Bond. He married Jessie Bell Laffoon July 14, 1934, in Centerville, Iowa.

He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island. His life was centered around his love for his family. He found great pleasure having his family around him for holidays and birthdays and joining his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on vacations, camping, ball games, picnics and watching the NASCAR races with his grandsons. He loved his rolling green hills of Missouri, playing his guitar and listening to his Blue Grass music.

He retired 20 years ago as a heavy equipment operator out of Local 537.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Bell Bond; son and daugther-in-law, Bobby and Myrna Bond, Milan; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Kenny Slead, Villa Grove; daughter and future son-in-law, Betty Hall and Gaylord Helms, Moline; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Bond, Rockford.
