She was a lifetime area resident.
Mrs. Rutherford was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Five Corners Baptist Church in Wolcottville and volunteered at the Indian Village Food Pantry in Auburn.
Sandy enjoyed knitting and crocheting, going to garage sales, and taking Saturday trips with her sisters. But, most of all, she dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
She was born July 20, 1940, in Noble County to Robert and Mary (Christlieb) Iddings.
On October 26, 1959, in Kendallville she married Raymond M. “Pockie” Rutherford. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, Toni (Jack) Ridenour of Fort Wayne and Trina (Mark) Krueger of Churubusco; a son, Toby (Danille) Rutherford of Fort Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Rutherford of Kendallville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanch “Peg” Iddings of Auburn and Linda Dilley of Auburn; and a brother, William “Bill” Iddings of Mannington, West Virginia.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Rutherford on February 7, 2012; two sisters, Wanda Cowley and Lois Harp; and two brothers, George Iddings and Donald Iddings.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Five Corners Baptist Church, Wolcottville with the Reverend Clarence Combs officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Albion.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Krueger, Brandon Rutherford, Joseph Krueger, Blake Rutherford, Brian Collins, Chad Sheets, Josh Gorney, and Todd Garver.
Calling is Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
