Charles J. Bradley, age 72, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Watauga Medical Center. He was born on July 11, 1941 to the late K.E ‘Goose’ Bradley and Zola E. Kimberlin Bradley. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Rosemary Stewart Bradley, who passed away on February 23, 2013 and grandchildren: Christopher Bradley and Jessie Coburn.

Charles was a graduate of Johnson County High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and Air National Guard Veteran. Following his military career, Charles began truck driving and eventually went to work for Logex Trucking Company, where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a proud member of the Iron Mountain Riders. Charles was proud of his heritage and growing up in Johnson County. Growing up he attended Midway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters: Elizabeth J. Howes and Mary Jo Coburn; sons: Jeffery A. Bradley and Michael S. Bradley; stepdaughters: Kimberly Siefert, Tracy Gill and Rose Hammond; step son, Jeffrey Cullen; sister, Rosemary B. Stanbery; brother, Jack B. Cable; grandchildren: Michelle, Matthew and Cody Howes, Jessie and Brandon Coburn, Taumi and Adrian Cline, Amber, Christopher, Kerstin, Nicholas and Kendra Bradley, Jessie and McKenzie Bradley, Zach Hammond, Tyler and Hannah Siefert ; great grandchildren: Brooklyn and Haleigh Moses and Trenton Coburn; special friends: Jesse Wagner, Val Hered, Bill and Judy McGuire, Larry Lewis, Paul Sajdak, John Reece, Scott McKinny and Tom, Amy Lewis Bradley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Hackett officiating. Graveside service and interment with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard followed at the Bradley Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Bradley, Michael Bradley, Zach Hammond, Matt Howes, Cody Howes and Larry Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers were Scott McKinney, John Reece and Brandon Coburn.

The family received friends from 4-6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charles’ memory to the Johnson County Cancer Support Group, c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N., Mountain City, TN 37683 or Bradley Cemetery Fund, Juanita Wilson, 137 Arrow Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
