Staff Sergeant Jonathan Turner (USAF), 28, of Columbia, died Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born July 9, 1987, in Columbia, he was a son of Scott and Joy Eastlake Turner. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Cheryl Eastlake; uncles, Gary Eastlake and John Eastlake, Jr.; and grandparents, John and Dimple Irene Eastlake, and Henry William and Margaret June Turner.

A graduate of Richland Northeast High School, Jonathan proudly served in the U. S. Air Force for nine years and was currently stationed at Pope Air Force Base. His military service led him to tours in Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar. Jonathan was a car enthusiast and he loved sharing what he knew with others.

Jonathan is survived by his wife: Lisa Marie Turner; his parents; brother: Justin Turner and wife, Ashley; nephew: Presley Alexander Turner.

The funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, January 24th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext, Columbia, with interment in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel assisted the family.
