Services for Benjamin W. Black, age 55, Spencer, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at the Methodist church in Spencer Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, by Rev. F.M. Shelden. Masonic services will be in charge of Edmond Lodge. Active pallbearers: Bob Carlson, Ed Butterfield, Ed Shelden, B.E. Corrigan, Ben Dancy and Tom Podine. Interment, Spencer, under direction of the Hahn's.
6/1/1928 Courthouse Closes For Black Funeral (Friday)
All offices at the courthouse will be closed for the afternoon Friday to allow employes to attend the funeral of B.W. Black; former county commissioner, who died Wednesday at his home in Spencer.
The employes and friends of the former official will meet at the Hahn Funeral home at 2 o'clock to accompany the body to Spencer, where services will be at 3 o'clock.
The flag at the courthouse was flown at half mast Thursday and will remain lowered through Friday.
