OBITUARY

W. B. Beck was born August 22, 1867, near Fairfax, Atchison county, Missouri, and passed to the great Beyond January 27, 1925, age 57 years, 5 months and 5 days.

When a small boy, his family moved to Guide Rock, Webster county, Nebr., where he grew to manhood; attending the public schools at that place and later teaching in Webster county's rural school.

He entered the service of the C. B. & Q. thirty years ago, and held an agents position on the WY division all these years. In 1906 he became agent at Liberty, which position he held for ten years, going from there to Nelson, and for the past seven years had been agent at Table Rock.

Mr. Beck had been an active member of the Msons, I.O.O.F., the M.W.A. Order of Railroad Telegraphers, Past patron and patron elect of the O.B.S.

He was the first N.G. of the Liberty Lodge I.O.O.F., and always an active worker in all civic lines for the betterment of the community in which he lived.

The funeral was held from his home, last Thursday, services being conducted by the Masons, and assisted by the I.O.O.F. and M.W.A.

The body was taken to Liberty by train, where the I.O.O.F lodge took charge, and he was laid to rest in Liberty cmetery by the side of his mother, who passed away seventeen years ago.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Hoover of Table Rock and Mrs. A. E. Veatch of Rainier, Oregon, and a host of friends.
