Passed away at Ladysmith Hospital. Survived by children David (Linda) of Halifax, NS, Gary (Sharon) of Ripley, ON, Carol (Klaus) Wernsdorf of Duncan, BC’ grandchildren Steven (Kara), Denice (Kevin) Kirk, Roxanne (Sam) Vodden, John and Catherine; three great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Ivy (1999) and sister, Mary MacDonald (2000), and three great grandsons.
Many thanks to the medical staff at Cowichan and Ladysmith hospitals during the past five weeks, to the Home Care staff and the Meals on Wheels volunteers. A special thank you to Gerald and Sharon at Dogwood Haven, Dr. Paul Watson, Rev. Duncan and Joan Barwise and the Pastoral Care and AOTS visitors from Duncan United Church. A memorial service for Donald will be held at Pine River United Church, Ripley, ON, on May 8, 2004 with internment in Pine River Cemetery.
