Lila, 87, of Fairgrove, MI. passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her home. Lila was the daughter of the late Lincoln and Carrie (Beyette) Skinner.

She was united in marriage with Harold J. Powell on November 5, 1945 in Fairgrove. Harold preceded her in death on November 22, 2010.

Lila enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, going out to eat, and the Red Hat Society. She also liked singing in her church choir and helping at the Fairgrove Bean Festival.

Lila is survived by four children and their spouses, Leeila & Warren Miller of Fairgrove, Harold James Powell, Jr. & Merrie of Unionville, Gary & Laura Powell of Fairgrove, Ron & Brenda Powell of Boynton Beach, Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a niece, Norma Swires of Westland; and a son-in-law, Leonard Lubaczewski of Caro.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lila was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Lubaczewski.

In keeping with Lila’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Watrousville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Sanders officiating. Inurnment followed at a later date at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove.
