Charles W. Chuck Scudder, Sr., 67, of Hackettstown, NJ died on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at his home. Born: November 1, 1944, he was the son of the late George A. and Anna Gould Scudder.
Personal: Chuck has lived most of his life in the Hackettstown and Great Meadows, NJ area moving from Rockaway Twp., NJ as a young man. He was employed by the Liberty Twp. Road Dept. for many years and retired in 2004. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with his family and was previously very active in local sports such as the softball and flag football leagues. Hunting and fishing also played an important role in Chuck's life years ago. He was of the Methodist faith and scheduled to join the Trinity United Methodist Church, Hackettstown, NJ this Sunday. Memberships: Chuck was a former member of the Hackettstown Moose Lodge.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 48 yrs., Sharon Bencivengo Scudder with whom he lived; two sons, Chuck Scudder, Jr. and his wife, Shari of Hackettstown, NJ, and Michael Scudder and his wife, Hope of Liberty Twp., NJ; three loving grandchildren, Andrew, Kirsten and Cheyenne; he is survived by four sisters, Charlotte Arnold Heath, Pat Ron Garriques, Georgia DeLorenzo and Sharon Hansen. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Services: Viewing and funeral services will be on Friday, August 10th, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 8 p.m. Interment will be on Sunday, 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ.
