Sarah (Sally) Hinton, age 78, passed away January 11, 2016 at home in Yakima. She was born in Okanogan, WA to Robert and Althea (Riste) Bryant. Sarah was the youngest of three children, attended school in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1955. After high school, she attended Willamette University and belonged to Chi Omega sorority. On September 9, 1956 she married and began her journey.
Along with raising five children, Sarah was active in school PTA, Cub Scouts, and women’s club. When the family lived in Custer, SD she became a licensed foster care giver, worked in a child care and filled in at the Custer Lumber office. Upon returning to Yakima, she operated her own licensed child care and lovingly cared for children who became part of her family.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Josephine (Joey).
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Living Care Retirement Community, Meyer Auditorium, 215 North 40th Avenue, Yakima.
A graveside service will be held at the Wenatchee Cemetery, 1804 Western Avenue, Wenatchee on Monday, January 25th at 1:00 p.m. To share a memory of Sarah visit www.keithandkeith.com.
In lieu of flowers, Sarah requested that donations be made to Memorial Hospice, the American Cancer Society or Living Care Retirement Community.
