William E. Camp-Romero, age 73 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away December 23, 2015 with his devoted wife Sandra Kay Camp at his side. William was born December 10, 1942 in his beloved Republic of Panama to Patsy Romero and Bill Camp. Bill married Edilma Lastenia Arosemena on May 1 1965 and she passed away on Dec 26 1991. Bill is survived by his devoted wife Sandra Kay Camp whom he married in 1999 and by three daughters: Ivette Tobar and husband Chris, Ilka Ramirez, husband Arquello, Ivonne Trevino and husband Arthur, 6 grandchildren: Priscilla Santos and husband David, William Trevino, Alexander Ramirez, Michael Ramirez, Matthew Tobar, Jonathan Tobar; and 1 great- grandchild: Leyla Santos. William attended Catholic University, Republic of Panama where he was on Chancellor's Honor list, Presidents Honor list, Texas Tech, Dean's list, Texas Tech University. He was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society for excellence in graduate studies, Vice-President, President, Student Senate, Catholic University, Republic of Panama. William received two Masters from Texas Tech in Sociology and Rhetoric and a BA in Human Services. William retired from the Federal Government with Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Social Security Administration and most important he worked as an overseas agent for the Central Intelligence Agency. William served in the United States Army specializing in intelligence stationed in Korea and Cambodia. William had a great sense of humor; he loved helping people, he was an avid reader, reading newspapers from around the world, loved music of fela kuti, Panama, Cuba, 60's music, blues, politics, traveling, basketball and could talk about any subject to anyone. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorials can be made to Catholic Family Services in Lubbock, Southern Poverty, Amnesty International or Doctors Without Borders.
