Nona Catherine Inman Davis "Nana" was born in Cedar Park Texas March 31 1917 to Robert Hannah Inman Sr. and Ina Albina Samford Inman and died Saturday Feb 11 2017 in Conroe Texas one day before her 72nd wedding anniversary and 47 days shy of turning 100.

She grew up in Winters Texas and married Bob L Davis February 12 1945 in San Diego California.

They returned to Texas and had three sons: Kenneth Gayle, and wife Kitty (deceased) of Conroe, TX, Jim Davis and wife Catherine of Fairfield Iowa, and Charlie Davis (deceased).

Nona C shepherded the family through our many relocations that took us all over Texas: Robert Lee, San Angelo, Pecos, McCamey, Vernon, Amarillo, San Antonio, and Austin. After Bob L. died in 1998 she moved to Conroe and was one of the first residents at Carriage Inn Senior Living and she moved to Heritage Oaks Assisted Living in 2014.

She will be remembered for her sharp wit and keen sense of humor as well as her highly competitive spirit when playing RummiKube, farkle, or wahoo. She played to win and most of the time she did. She recently received a citation crowning her the RummiKube queen of Heritage Oaks

Her talents and interests included painting with oils and watercolors and was a "blue ribbon hooker" as her rug won first prize at the Montgomery County Fair. She loved to dress up and decorate for the holidays and always won those contests as well. She is also known for her world class collection of miniature shoes.

She was a gifted story teller and enthralled us with her tales of growing up in poverty in the depression.

She was a devout lifelong member of Southern Baptist churches so we were surprised when she told us she " always voted Democrat" and once delivered marijuana brownies ( medicinal of course) to an ailing relative.

Her granddaughters Hilary Ruiz of San Diego and Ashley Wilbanks of Frisco TX were with her for the last few days of her life. She always enjoyed visits from her great grandchildren: Caroline, Kate, Julia and Sarah Jane Ruiz, and Luke and Noah Wilbanks.
