Joseph James Irwin, III, known as Murph Irwin, age 19, of Bethel Park, died suddenly from natural causes on April 21, 2009.
He was the son of Joseph J. Irwin, Jr. and Eileen (Suffern) Irwin, and the brother of Kaitlin M. Irwin; grandson of the late Joseph Irwin Sr. and Rosemary Irwin and the late James F. Suffern, Sr. and the late Nancy S. Suffern; nephew of James Irwin, Tish and Steve Baker, Regina and Larry Campbell, James and Mary Suffern, Margie Sarkis, Louise and Larry Fidler, William and Susan Suffern, and Patti Suffern; cousin of Dakota Garon Irwin, Anna Frances, Christopher and Abigail Grace Baker, Stephen (Tana) Campbell, Michael (Debbie) Campbell, Shaun Black, Angela and Anthony Sarkis, C.J. (Susan) and Jacquie Fidler, Jennifer and Jessica Suffern.
He was survived by the love of his life, Brittany Pfaff.
Graduate of St. Louise de Marillac Grade School and member of the state championship basketball team. Graduate of Bethel Park High School, Class of 2008 where he was a member of the 2007 WPIAL Championship Soccer Team and Co-Captain of the Boy's Volleyball Team. "Murph" was a selection for the All WPIAL All State Boys Volleyball Team and an Almanac 2008 Boys Volleyball M.V.P. Murphy loved Duquesne Univ. where he was pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a member of the Mens Volleyball Club Team. He was a lifeguard at Rolling Hills Country Club and High School volunteer at St. Clair Memorial Hospital. Along with his love of Duquesne, he loved sports, music, surfing, his family, his friends and life.
