This gravesite has not yet been located, but should be in the area of Upperville, Virginia. May be buried at the Goose Creek Baptist Church of Upperville in a now-unmarked grave. (See at Balch Library, Leesburg, VA, the text "Joseph Caldwell of Loudoun County, Virginia" by Edythe Maxey Clark, page 13). The book says "On 9 December 1818, Joseph Carr 'of Loudoun County' had conveyed to the trustees of the Goose Creek Baptist Church at Upperville, a tract of one acre on the north side of the turnpike road, near a small stone bridge, leading from Ashby's Gap to Alexandria, for the use of the Baptist Congregation. One of the witnesses was his son (by his first wife, Nancy Ann Elgin), Caldwell Carr. It is possible that Joseph Carr was buried in that church's cemetery in a now-unmarked grave." (See Loudoun County Virginia Deed Book 2-W, pp 298-99; and Deed Book 4-B, pp 219-20). And if his grave is there, perhaps so is the grave of his second wife, Delia Strother Carr.
