Kathyn was better known as "Kathy" was the daughter of George and Mary Alice Detimore-Adams. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1968 and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She worked in the Personnel Department of the Kansas Highway Patrol for 29 years. She married Francis McCollum on July 31, 1987 in Holton, KS. He survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Kevin Shea, Soldier, KS and Dennis Shea, Fort Royal, VA; two sisters, Virginia Anderson, Topeka, KS and Georgia Beattie, Holton, KS; two brothers, Gerald Adams and Donald Adams, both of South Carolina; and five grandchildren.
