Asheboro James "Red" Timmons, Jr. died Thursday, January 14, 2106 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.Funeral service will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church, Asheboro. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Asheboro.He is survived by three daughters: Rev. Rena D. Patterson ,Carla Patterson both of Asheboro and Nadia McLaughlin of Rockingham; two sons, Ethan Cassady of Piney Ridge and James Mason of Siler City; three brothers, Thomas Timmons, Billy Joe Timmons(Serita) both of Asheboro and Milton Timmons(Teresa) of Greensboro,; Six sisters, Barbara Ann Lampley (Robert) of Hackensack, NJ, Gloria Deana Williams (Claudious) of Greensboro, Elizabeth Neal of Asheboro, Amanda Timmons, Paulette Timmons and Rosa Lee Timmons all of Paterson, NJ; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a longtime companion, Geraldlynn Leake; a host of nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00pmKimes Funeral Service, Liberty is handling the arrangements.
