Barbara Jean Deitz, age 82, of Newaygo, passed away unexpectedly early on Sunday, January 3, 2016 in Grand Rapids with her family by her side. She was born on January 11, 1933 to Lawrence and Gladys (Bruckner) Dragoo in Fremont. She was a member of Newaygo United Methodist Church. Barb spent countless hours making thousands of quilts by hand over the years. She was a lady of many talents. Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years Calvin, daughter, Susan (Karl) Frederiksen; grandson, Erik (Britt) Frederiksen; granddaughter, Kacie (Steve) Smith; four Great-Grandchildren, Harrisen, Carter, Ryann, Tres; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Dragoo. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Loren Dragoo. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newaygo United Methodist Church . Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, 11:00 am at the Newaygo United Methodist Church, 101 State Road, Newaygo, Michigan, with Pastor Kathleen Groff officiating.
