Stella “Bootsie” Wood, age 71, of Westville, IN passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 in Michigan City, IN. She was born on December 31, 1944 in McKeesport, PA to Floyd and Stella (Zethner) Krenn. She is survived by her children, Kim Specht (Jessie) of Westville, IN, Melvin (Tracy) Wood, Jr. of Valparaiso, IN and Kelly Wood (Mark) of Westville, IN; brother, Bucky Krenn of Milton, PA; sisters, Carol Sullivan of Lakeland, FL and Billie Jean Wallace of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Snelling, Danny Poole, C. J. Specht, Adam and Cody Wood, Katie Wood and Nathan Acton; great grandson, Leo Poole and her dog, Little Mama. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Nell Easter and her dog, Princess.
Her greatest joys in life came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Bootsie had the ability to make everyone feel like family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:00 am at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304 with Pastor Erik Grayvold officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
