Wilson Bailey Buried Here.
This morning the body of Wilson Bailey was brought here from Tucumcari, New Mexico, for burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery by the side of his son, who was laid to rest there about eleven years ago.
Mr. Bailey, formerly lived over in Osage county, east of here, with Ponca City, as his post office and trading point, and acquired a lot in the local cemetery, where as stated a son lies buried. About twelve years ago he removed to Arkansas City, where he continued to live until a little more than a year ago, when with his wife he moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico, being at that time somewhat frail in health, and where he died this week of Bright's disease, aged 82 years, and 14 days. He was born in Georgia in 1833 and leaves surviving him his wife and six children - two sons and four daughters, some of whom at Denver, Colorado, Grainola, this state, Bard, New Mexico and Maple City, Kansas.
Two of his daughters and two sons were here for the burial today.
Services at the grave were conducted by Rev. Isom Roberts, and a few of our citizens accompanied the mourners to the burial ground. The hour for the funeral was not announced so only those who saw the cortege starting were able to attend the rites.
