Doyle was born in Pawnee, OK, to Mary Alice and I.A. Blagg "Bud". He was the oldest of three brothers, Clifford Dale and Wendell Eugene. While he was a child, the family moved their dairy operation to Caruthers, CA where he attended Caruthers High School.
Doyle's call to duty came in 1943. Doyle was awarded five Battle Stars in the European Theater. Embarking home aboard the Queen Mary, he began his civilian life in Fresno, CA.
Doyle worked for the City of Fresno for almost 30 years as an engineer and Captain on the city's fire department. Doyle shared 48 years with his beloved wife, Beverly, prior to her passing. They had two children, Terry Paul and her husband John, and Tom Blagg and his wife Kelly. He was especially proud of his four granddaughters, Julianne Nitta and husband Dave, Jennifer Schroer and husband Justin, Brenna and Kaitlin Blagg. He had three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Audrey, and Colby Nitta.
Everyone who knew Doyle would describe him as an avid outdoorsman. As a dog trainer, his English Pointers led him to national prominence in the Field Trial arena. Judging at Field Trial events became a sport of its own where he was a noted contributor to Field Trial rules and standards.
Sailing and Doyle became synonymous. The venues of Fresno Yacht Club and South Shore Yacht Club of Newport Beach showcased his self-taught sailing abilities, winning many races and championships. The many friends he made through Fresno Yacht Club and the greater sailing community is something he always cherished.
T. Doyle Blagg, a great man amongst the greatest generation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Sunnyside Country Club, 5704 E. Butler Ave., on August 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests any remebrances be sent to Trinity Community Church, 12168 N.
