Arnold Grant Redmond was born and grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1958. He graduated from Morgan State College and then from Howard University Dental School in Washington, D.C., in 1970.
He practiced dentistry in Baltimore and married Loralee Denise Prichett there on Sept. 15, 1962.
From 1978-1985 he practiced dentistry in the military. He reached the rank of lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy at Orlando, Fla., and the rank of major in the U.S. Army at Fort Stewart, Ga. He worked as a dentist at Fort Hood.
He was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity and Pershing Rifles at Morgan State College, the NAACP, and the American Dental Association. He had been a member of Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church since 1987.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Arnold Redmond Jr. of Copperas Cove; a daughter, Kristan Flanagan of Stafford; five brothers, Cecil, Collins, Leander and Jesse Redmond, all of Baltimore, and Wendell Redmond of Jacksonville, Ark.; two sisters, Barbara Holback of Syracuse, N.Y., and Lynne Allen of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
