Silverton – JoAnne Cox passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2016, with loving family by her side.
JoAnne Marie Nelson was born in Corvallis to Lester and Marie (Moser) Nelson, one of four children. She was raised and educated in Albany and Salem where she later met Tony Cox. Together JoAnne and Tony were united in marriage on August 25, 1972. Shortly after they moved to Silverton where they settled and raised their two sons, Jacob and Samuel. JoAnne was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, especially her rose gardens, and was very active in women’s ministry and prayer. Above all else, JoAnne adored her family, especially her five grandchildren. She was an active member of Calvary Chapel Church of Salem.
JoAnne is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by, her husband of 43 years, Tony; sons, Jake (Jennifer) of Newberg and Sam (Gretchen) of Mt. Angel; her 5 grandchildren, her brothers: Allen, Dave and Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of JoAnne’s life will take place at 11a.m., on January 23, 2016, East Salem Community Center. She was laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery of Silverton. Arrangements with Unger Funeral Chapel.
