Erwin B. Blancha, 79, a 48-year resident of Sterling Heights, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at his home. He was born April 5, 1927, in Philadelphia.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his children, Barry (Mong-Yu) Blancha of Foxboro, Mass., Donna Marie Blancha of Walled Lake, Mark E. (Christina) Blancha of Sterling Heights, and Tim R. (Mary Beth) Blancha of New York; siblings, Susan Tallerico, Sonya Thomas and Edward Blancha; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyne Rose Marie Blancha in 1997; and daughter, Jody Ann Link in 1999.

A memorial celebration will held 4-8 p.m. today at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (three blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica.

Memorial contributions may be made to any hospice organization.
