COLEMAN, Emma Elizabeth Whitlow, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on January 12, 2016. She was born to the late Wesley and Chanie Whitlow. Emma was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Coleman Sr.; son, Joseph Coleman Jr.; and siblings, Mamie Davis, Juanita Wright, Marie Whitlow and Leroy Whitlow. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Delores C. Freeman, Shirley Thomas and Barbara Miller (Michael) of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, Ernest Coleman (Colinda) and Jerry Coleman (Josette); sister-in-law, Nettie Coleman; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Street Baptist Church of God, 2301 Cedar St., on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 12 p.m. Interment 9 a.m. Monday, January 18, in Glendale National Cemetery.
