Funeral for Ludie Douglas, 76, Negro farmer-ranch man of the Cheek community, who died Sunday in an Ardmore hospital of leukemia, will be Thursday at 2 p.m., in the Cheek separate school. Burial in the Cheek-Love cemetery will be by Ragsdales.
Pallbearers are L.P. Young Jr., J.B. Abram, R.N. Hankins, Sherman Woods, Garvin Wilson and Eugene Roberson.
Douglass was born in Sherman, Texas, and came to Oklahoma at the age of eight, moving to this county from Elmore City in 1903.
Survivors are his wife, Mimmie; four sons, Ludie Jr., El Reno; Theodore, Cheek; Love, Waterloo, Iowa, and Marzeee, Ardmore; one daughter, Lacie Cheek; three brothers, Ed, Boley; Layette and Harrison, both of Ardmore, a sister, Mrs. Lillie Thompson, Pasadena Calif., and seven grandchildren."
