Ms. Mary Allen, age 80, passed away in the early morning hours of January 14, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She is the widow of Howard Allen.
Funeral services for Ms. Allen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. prior to service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS.
Mary was born February 22, 1935 to the late William Garfield Finn and May Thomas Finn in Houston, MS. Mary was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired nurse.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Phyllis Allen of Courtland and Vickey Gray of Pontotoc, one sister Helen F. Standard of Batesville, one brother, Bobby J. Finn of Crenshaw, three grandchildren, Melissa James of Knoxville, TN, Alyssa G. McKnight of Pontotoc, Wesley Gray of Pontotoc, and one great grandchild Lucy McKnight of Pontotoc.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary is preceded in death by two children, Pam Allen James, Keith Allen, one brother Billy Finn, and one grandson, Christopher Michael James.
