Sir Henri-Elzéar Taschereau, PC (October 7, 1836 – April 14, 1911) was a Canadian jurist and the fourth Chief Justice of Canada.
is a lawyer, politician, teacher and lawyer. He is the first French Canadian to be appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

He was born in his family's seigneurial manor house at Sainte-Marie-de-la-Beauce, Lower Canada to Pierre-Elzéar Taschereau b.28 Oct 1805 d.25 Jul 1845 and Catherine Hénédine Dionne b.13 May 1819 d.27 Aug 1870. Tashereau attended the Université Laval and was called to the Bar of Quebec in 1857. That same year at Vaudreuil, Quebec May 27 1857 married Marie-Antoinette de Lotbiniere Harwood (d.Ottawa June 2 1896 remains were interred in the parish church of Vaudreuil), daughter of Robert Unwin Harwood,his wife, Marie Louise Josephte Chartier de Lotbiniere, and they were the parents of seven children. He married his second wife, Marie-Louise Panet @ 29 {b.29 February 1868} & Henri-Elzear @ 61 22 March 1897 Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario Canada and fathered three more children.
