He married Marguerite Caroline Hartman on June 25, 1925 in Danville, Pennsylvania at the Presbyterian Church and after her death in 1952, married her sister Amelia on July 1, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Veth Ayers Presbyterian Church.
For many years, Dr. Fowle was the Staff Physician and Professor of Anatomy at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He was survived by three daughters from his first wife.
