Kathryn J. "Kay" Wagner, of Shippenville, passed away at her home on Oct. 30, 2015, after an extended illness. She was 87 years old.
Born on July 20, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elder E. and Thelma E. (Lowry) Oakley. In 1950, in Clarion, she married James L. Wagner, who has preceded her in death.

​Kay owned and operated school buses for Clarion Area Schools for 21 years and also worked for Sylvania in Brookville and the Rhea's Motel at the corners. She and her husband owned and operated the skating rink in Clarion in the early 1950s as well as the J&K Rink in St. Petersburg. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Shippenville and the Moose Club.

Kay is survived by her children, Richard (Linda) Wagner of Knox, Nancy (Sam) Steiner of Shippenville, and Pamela Wagner of Clarion; her grandchildren, Larry Wagner, Julia Kay VanTassel, Malinda Lukers, Cyndy Steiner, Jayme McKay, Kayla Wagner, Codi Wagner, Shelley Wagner, Tristin Thompson, Dustan Hornung Anthony Hornung; and seven great-grandchildren, Audrianna and Brianna VanTassel, Jennah Jade Steiner, Jayden Juelle McKay, Brayson Wagner, Jackson and Savannah Lukers. She is also survived by her sister, Joan (Doug) Buzard, of Franklin. She will also be missed by her dog, Trixie.

​In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William A. Wagner, and an infant granddaughter, Chrissy Steiner.
