Billie Jean Gallagher, age 74, of Salem, died at 5:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born April 8, 1940 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Velma (Moore) Mattevi.
She was a 1958 graduate of Salem High School. She worked as a barmaid.
Her hobbies were, Crocheting, gambling and crafts.
Survivors include two sons, William (Jennie) Christopher of Salem, Eugene (Wendy) Christopher of Norfolk, Virginia; one daughter, Betty “Missy” Christopher of Salem; five grandchildren, Brian, Kristen, Katey, Megan, and Whitney; and her cat, booger.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Christopher whom preceded her in death in 1998 and second husband, James Joseph Gallagher whom preceded her in death January 21, 2008; stepmother, Betty Hilliah Mattevi, who raised her; and a half brother, Arthur John Brooks also preceded her in death.
