A Dekalb County, Ga., native, Mrs. Deering was born Oct. 6, 1942, the daughter of Earnest and Marjorie Arnold Wallace
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She attended Sylvan High School in Atlanta and Auburn University and worked as an administrative professional for Georgia Power Company.
Mrs. Deering was involved in her community. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Wedowee and the FUMC Choir, Community Chorus, Wedowee Study Club, SWAG, East Alabama Arts Society and Wedowee Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Deering of Wedowee; two daughters, Danna Deering of Carrollton, Ga., and Martha Duckett; one son, Scott Deering of Dallas, Ga.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Strickland of Wedowee.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Young, Russ Spence, Richard Gresham, Carl Battle, James Kendrick and Sanford Chambers.
