HURST - Harold Alvin "Smokey" Stovall, 84, retired from the U.S. Air Force, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in North Richland Hills Hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Dr. in North Richland Hills. Burial: Laurel Land Mausoleum in Dallas. Visitation: 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.

Harold Alvin "Smokey" Stovall was born Dec. 9, 1915 in McKinney and was raised in Dallas. A graduate of North Dallas High School, he was a career Air Force officer and pilot with over 28 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. His wife, Anna Frances Metcalf Stovall, preceded him in death.

Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Stovall of Richardson; and grandchildren, Jessica and John Stovall.
