Vennie Howard Caudill Salyers Adams passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky. Vennie was born March 10, 1928 to the late Ashland and Lula Jenkins Howard in Magoffin County. Vennie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Vennie is survived by three sons - Larry (Linda) Caudill, Cline (Marilyn Jo) Salyers all of Salyerville, Ky., and Gary (Bobbi Jo) Salyers of Oil Springs, Ky., five daughters - Judy (Stanley) Holbrook, Peggy (Jerry) Combs, Shena (Barry) Patrick all of Salyersville, Ky., Janie (Robert) Howard of West Liberty, Ky., and Freda (Larry) Hammonds of Ashland, Ky., two brothers - Dola Howard and Solen Howard both of Salyersville, Ky., two sisters - Evie Tackett of Salyersville, Ky., and Lola Gamble of Marion, Ohio. Vennie is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Along with her parents preceding Vennie in death is her first husband Melvin Caudill, her second husband Hammie Salyers and her third husband Duell Adams, two sons - Hammie Salyers Jr., and James Ernest Salyers, one daughter - Brenda Kay Salyers, five brothers - Toy Howard, Golden Howard, Groon Howard, Dennie Howard, and Ennie Howard, and five sisters - Flora Howard, Liz Gamble, Wonnie Tackett, Ivory Gamble and Estre Gamble. Funeral services for Vennie Adams will be Monday, February 15, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. From the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Salyers Cemetery at Flat Fork, Ky. Visitation will begin Sunday at 6:00 P.M. And continuing until time of service on Monday from the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
