Martha E. Houpt Answers Call of Death Angel

Former Sullivan Woman passes away at home of Son Rollie Houpt at Spencer

Martha E. Houpt, widow of the late William R. Houpt, died at the home of her son, Rollie Houpt, at Spencer Sunday death following an illness from diseases incident to her advanced age.

Martha E. Stewart Houpt was born April 11, 1855 and passed away Sunday, August 15, 1926 at the advanced age of 71 years, four months and four days. She was united in marriage to William R. Houpt Jan. 4, 1873. To this union six children were born. She united with the Church of Christ at the age of 19 years and has lived a good christian life, winning the respect and love of relatives, friends and acquaintances.

She leaves to morn her loss two daughters, Myrtle Crawford of Sullivan and Ethel Crawford of American Falls, Idaho; one son Rollie Houpt of Spencer, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one brother, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends. Two daughters, one son and the husband precede Mrs. Houpt in death.

Funeral services were held at Patricksburg Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Rev, Ira Anderson officiating. Internment was in the Patricksburg cemetery.
