The daughter of Seldon and Flora (Welch) Prewett, Esther moved to Liberal, KS from Hardesty, OK in 1991. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, southeast of Hardesty, a Sunday school teacher, WMU President, and "Sunbeam" director for Panhandle Baptist Assoc. She belonged to the Range Ladies' Quilt Group whose quilts were donated to the Cal Farley Boy's Ranch and area nursing homes.
On Dec. 1, 1939, she married Fritz Lehman. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter, a son-in-law, two sisters, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchldren, 8 great grandchildren and 17 great step-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Minter and Flora Weaver; two brothers, Johnny and Harold Prewett; and one sister, Eunice Grove.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13 at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal, KS. Burial will follow at Hartville Cemetery in Hardesty, OK. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
