On June 16, 1941, in Henderson, Kentucky, Audrey married Merrill Frances Alexander. He passed away January, 21, 1970.
While they were in Canada the children would ride in a covered wagon to school. In the winter time there was a pot bellied stove in the wagon to keep them warm and the children would all have to take turns sitting by the fire. When they returned to the United States Audrey attended High School in Gary, IN., then Remington, IN, graduating from Remington High School with the Class of 1940.
Audrey was a homemaker and retired from Schumacher Electric after ten years. For nine years, Audrey cared for children in her home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Rensselaer, IN., the VFW Auxiliary, Jolly Homemakers Home Ec Club and Royal Neighbors.
Audrey is survived by, her four children, Carol (Jack) Geisel of Rensselaer, IN., Linda (Dan) Browning of Morrow, OH., Larry L. Alexander of Rensselaer, IN., Richard Alexander of Rensselaer, IN.; five grandchildren, Kelli Hilton of Rensselaer, IN., Alan (Darla) Laffoon of Reynolds, IN., Daniel (Jess) Browning II of Morrow, OH., Melissa Browning of Cincinnati, OH., Hallie (Rob Miller) McCluskey of Morrow, OH.; six great-grandchildren.
Audrey is preceded in death by, her parents, Edward Edwin Dawson and Bessie May (Swartz) Dawson, her beloved husband, Merrill Frances Alexander, three brothers, Dan Dawson, Delmar Dawson, Archie Dawson, and one sister, Glenola Rogers.
Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Audrey will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer with James Michal officiating . Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer.
