Russell F. Swanson passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2012. Born August 25, 1921 in San Francisco to
S. Victor and Annie J. Swanson. He was predeceased by his brother, Marshall V. Swanson. He is survived by three sons, Elliott, Victor and Richard, from his first marriage to Norma Jean Smith (deceased). He is also survived by his wife Barbara.

He was retired from the Operating Engineers Local 3 where he served as a district representative. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Horseless Carriage Club, and a longtime member of the Shriners, Masons, Druids and Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed dancing and playing poker with his many friends.

A service will be held at Eggen and Lance, 1540 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, on Thursday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice By The Bay.
