Born in 1938 in Rifle, Colorado Carol was raised in Hugo out on "the god-forsaken planes of Colorado" where her grandfather had established the paper The Range Ledger and her mother wrote for the Eastern Colorado Plainsman. Carol was a proud daughter of these pioneers who settled the West. In 1960 Carol graduated from Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, then received her master's degree in library sciences from University of Denver. She worked in the Limon School District in Denver before accepting a position at Chico State Meriam Library in1969. A quiet and reserved person, Carol enjoyed her friends, colleagues and life in Chico for 55 years. She was a voluminous reader and was delighted to bequeath her personal library to the Chico main library. Carol was a significant branch of her family tree and she could always be counted on to tell all the facts and recount all the stories. She loved chatting with her many, many cousins, sharing the latest information and news of the family.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother Helen (Miles) Bradshaw, and her father, Tom Dee Bradshaw, her half-sisters Louise and Evelyn and her half-brother Harry.

Time is always too short, loss always too soon. The sadness in passing so immense. But the gentleness of her smile, the warmth of her welcome, the twinkle in her eyes remain with us forever.
