Keith "Keeter" A. Chambers, 78, of West Salem, formerly of Northfield, Minn., passed away with his wife and family by his side, Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

He was born Aug. 21, 1937, to Adrian and Christine (Gudvangen) Chambers in Faulkton, S.D.

Keith married Laurie (Brown) Zellmer on Jan. 31, 2002.

Keeter was a semi-truck driver most of his life. Over the years he worked for several different companies and had the opportunity to criss-cross much of the United States.

He could entertain family and friends for hours with his experiences. Keeter had a love and fascination of all things "cars". It was a rare thing to find a vehicle he was unable to identify by make/model/year.

He was also passionate about NASCAR and anything Earnhardt.

He is survived by his wife Laurie; two daughters, Darla (Dick) Harmer of Faribault, Minn., and Denise (Bill) Mosca of Faribault, Minn; one step-daughter, Nikki (Eric) Jandro of Fountain City, Wis.; one step-son, Shawn (Eve) Zellmer of West Salem, Wis.; one daughter-in-law, Christine Chambers of Faribault, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Jeremiah Smith, Joshua Chambers, Albert Smith, Ryan Goetz, Delaina Petty, Brandon Chambers, Andy Harmer, Grace Emmert, and Charlie Chambers; four step-grandchildren, Drew Zellmer, Ella Zellmer, Ashley Jandro, and Jacob Jandro; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Gabe (Julie) Larson, Jr., Dwayne (Mavis) Chambers, and Richard (Suzanne) Larson; one sister, Gwen (John) Kastner; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-dad, Gabe Larson, Sr.; his first wife, Shirley (Hausen) Chambers; his son, Dale; his brother, Dale and sister-in-law, Joyce; and his sister, Betty (Dick) Rasmussen.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Jostad Chapel, 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem. Pastor Stephanie M. Steiner will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and a fund has been set up for Keeter's grandson who is also battling cancer. Please "note" on your check or card if you would like your monies to be deposited into this fund.
