Iva Mae Anderson passed away January 6, 2016 at the age of 86 at her home at Brookdale Springfield Briarwood Assisted Living.

She was born to Charles and Florence Brown Johnson on May 25, 1929 in Bismarck ND. The family moved to Oregon when she was a child and settled in the Yamhill area.

She married Homer Anderson in 1947. They remained in the Yamhill County area until the 1960’s when they moved to the Eugene area.

Homer was a builder and Mae managed apartment complexes and did other office work. Homer passed away in 2008.

Iva Mae loved people and made friends easily. She adored children and doted on her grandkids and great grandchildren. She never met a craft she couldn’t master and created beautiful quilts, needle work, and wonderful cards enjoyed by friends and family.

She was a long time member of the Eugene Seventh-Day Adventist church, her passion was serving at the door as a greeter to welcome all who entered.

She was survived by her daughter; her son-in-law; 4 grandsons; 3 great grandchildren; and her sister, Viola.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Mittleider in 2015.
