Tom was born in Gatesville, Texas, to the late Roger H. and Norma Lee Miller. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1959 and Texas Tech University in 1963. Tom moved to Houston to work for Texaco and returned to Gatesville in 1966 taking over the family business as the Gulf Consignee Distributor and Gulf Serve-U-Center service station. Tom married Barbara Terrell on May 2, 1998, and they resided in Pancake. He worked for the Texas Department of Corrections for 11 years. He was Past President of the Gatesville Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Gatesville Lions Club, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was involved with the Gatesville Little League and loved the game of golf.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Scott Miller and Todd Miller and wife, Jamie; daughters, Margaret Deats and husband, Stephen, and Jacqueline Gohlke and husband, Randy; grandchildren: Nikki, Shauna, Danielle, Steen, Jake, Isabelle, Logan, Jack, William, Reid, and Luke; sister, Ann Baugh, of Brownwood; and brother, Roger Miller, of Sante Fe, NM.
