Mrs. Billie Sue Key, 85, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Thomasville Medical Center following several years of declining health.
Mrs. Key was born in Guilford County, January 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Daniel James Michael and Edna Garrison Michael. Billie was a loving wife and mother, who enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Key and a brother, Daniel James Michael, Jr.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Key and wife Sharon Lacey Key and Kevin Key and wife Kim Key, both of Thomasville; a sister, Kay Helsabeck and husband Ralph of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Khristie and Christian Key, Amber Shore and Jonathan Murdock; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Joshua and Blake.
A Celebration of Billie's Life will be held Wednesday, December 30, at 2 p.m. in the Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Luke Jackson. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Abbotts Creek Center, 877 Hill Everhart Rd., Lexington, NC 27292.
