John William Jack Coulter passed away in Franklin, Tenn., after a brief illness on Dec. 31, 2015, at the age of 80. Jack was born in New Haven, Conn., on March 2, 1935. He was the only child of George Palmer Coulter and Mary Rundle Coulter of Connecticut. Jack and his parents resided in Connecticut and New York City before settling in Austin, Texas, where he would attend Austin High School and University of Texas. While attending the University of Texas, Jack met his sweetheart, Tommie Jean Williams of Post, Texas. They were married on Sept. 1, 1956, and eventually settled in Victoria, Texas, with their three sons, Keith, Charles and Forrest.

The family later resided in Burleson. Later, Jack and Tommie lived in Fort Worth, Lubbock and San Antonio before moving to Tennessee in 2013 to be near their son, Keith. Jack and Tommie both attended University of Texas and both received a BS in Pharmacy in 1959. He enjoyed his career as a pharmacist and continued working well into his seventies. Jack will be remembered for his warm smile, generosity, laid-back style and love for others. Jack was preceded in death by Tommie, his wife of 58 years, and by his parents.

There will be an informal service to celebrate and honor Jack Coulter on Saturday, 30 Jan. 2016 at 7 p.m. in Lubbock.

The family has carried out Jack's wishes to donate his body to medical research. His remains will be interred in Post, Texas, at a later date.
