A Saintly Woman has Gone Home to Heaven: Mrs. J. M. Herndon, of the Carmel district, has passed from earth to heaven, after a long and well spent life. She was a widow of the late James M. Herndon and Meriwether (County) boasted of no better woman. She walked with God here below and will spend her eternity with Him. She raised a large family of sons and daughters to call her blessed. Her life was a fragrant flower which shed its rich aroma of righteousness over those who came in contact with her. She was a good, useful woman and her death is the occcasion of a great loss to her family and community.
