Services for Curtis Myrl Harper, 81, of Diboll, will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Diboll.

Mr. Harper was born March 23, 1934 in Fastril, Texas, the son of the late Ester (Downs) and Harmon Jefferson Harper. He passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mr. Harper was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a logger and truck driver for Temple Industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing dominoes. He loved playing pranks on everyone. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of Diboll United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and JoAnn Harper; daughters, Pam Bookout and Angie Glass; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and a number of other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Harper; and son, Odale Harper.
