He was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force assigned to 7th Special Operations Squadron, 352d Special Operations Group, stationed at RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk, England. He was a flight engineer, and his position was the Standards & Evaluations Chief.
He died in a non-hostile military aircraft accident in Albania on March 31, 2005, at the age of 40 along with five officers and three other enlisted men aboard the MC-130H Combat Talon II. They were out on a night training mission in Tirana, Albania when the aircraft failed to clear a ridge while flying above mountainous terrain, killing all on board.
