Joseph H. "Joe" Hoover, 90, of Chambersburg passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born June 7, 1925 in Chambersburg PA, the son of the late Joseph H. and Helen Grosz Hoover. Joe was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and graduate of the 1943 class of C.H.S. For many years he was employed as the manager of the Harrisburg Autoparts store and later as a part-time parts manager at A1 Motors. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army and a member of the 1st infantry division. When he was younger he enjoyed rollerskating and archery.

In addition to his wife Clara Rosenberry Hoover, he is survived by his two sons: Dennis L. and David L. Hoover; two grandsons Brian and Philip Hoover; two siblings: Thomas H. (Jean) Hoover and Peggy L. Pilgrim and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert L. and James W. Hoover.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the William F. Sellers funeral home with the Rev. Rick Noll officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Norland cemetery with Military honors provided by the Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 Honor Guard.
