JEFFREY JAY "WARDY" WARD
1957-2009

NORTH ADAMS -- Jeffrey Jay "Wardy" Ward, 51, of Union Street died Tuesday evening, Feb. 17, 2009, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born in Bennington, Vt., on April 30,, 1957, the son of Jay Paul and Marjorie Cullinan Ward, Jr., He received his education in Bennington schools and was a 2975 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

Jeffrey was an electrician by trade and worked for Monument Electric in Bennington and, upon moving to North Adams, Jeffrey worked for Greylock Electric in Adams for 10 years and Sommers Electric in Adams for roughly four years. Jeffrey also worked at NSK Steering Systems in Bennington.

Jeffrey loved hunting, camping and fishing. An avid NASCAR fan he enjoyed nostalgic automobiles, car shows and going to flea markets. He loved the snow and everything to do with the outdoors. Jeffrey especially loved the children in his life and took great pride in his family and friends.

Jeffrey leaves his wife, the former Leona Goodward of North Adams, who he married in Arlington, Vt., on July 3, 1993; three sons, Tyler and Travis Morse of Colorado and Casey Burgess of Bennington; two brothers, Jack Ward of North Adams and Joseph Ward of Tennessee; his sister, Joanne WIlson and her husband, Timothy of Pownal, Vt.; his mother-in-law, Priscilla Goodard of Pownal, and his father-in-law, Wayne Goodard and his wife, Mary, of Pownal; his sisters-in-law, Tanya Goodard White and her Fiance, Leverette Harrington; Melissa Collette and her husband Dennis; Karen Boesse and her husband, Chad, and Kristina Doucette and her husband, David; his very close cousins, the Ward's of Arlington, Vt., and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister, Judy Ryan, who died Aug. 30 2008.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Jeffrey will be Saturday Feb. 21, 2009, at 1 p.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main St., Bennington. The Re. Michael DeMasi will conduct the service. Interment will be private. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Saturday Feb. 21, 2009, from 11 to 1 p.m., two hours prior to the service.
